As you all know, Leap year happens every 4 years to keep our calendar on track with our trips around the sun. It’s actually much more complicated than that, but who wants to be bored with math?

The Earth actually takes 365 days, 5 hours and 48 minutes to circle around the sun, and to make up for the extra hours a leap day is added, the 29th of February.

But Leap Day is much more than a celestial clerical correction, it has a very unique numerological energy that we only have access to during a Leap Year.

Numerology is based on the idea that the universe is a complex system that can be broken down into its most basic elements, such as numbers, as a means to understand the whole. Every number has its own unique meaning and vibration and can therefore be used to understand events, life paths, and ourselves.

So, the 29thof February creates a unique set of numbers that only happens every four years:

2 (February) and 29. The numerology for this day is 2, and 2+9 = 11.

In Numerology, 11 is the vibration of spiritual enlightenment and awakening.

Specifically, number 11 represents a fine-tuned INTUITION.

Number 2, contains the vibration of finding your soul purpose or mission in life. Two is a feminine number that offers energy to helps us to birth our creations and bring our ideas into the physical world. It also gives us the feelings feel love, compassion, faith, trust, balance and harmony. The key word for two in this case is PURPOSE.

If we add in the number for the year 2020, which is a 4, we add the energy of MANIFESTATION, accomplishment and stability.

The combination of these numbers creates a special energy in which we can receive messages via our intuition about our purpose or direction in life. In fact, because the 29th of February is such a rare vibration, it creates an opportunity for us to “leap” forward our lives.

So pay attention to what insights or psychic messages come to you on Leap Day. This energy is all about receiving wisdom and inspiration that you can use to help yourself by using your intuition with compassion and trust. Together with the number 4 vibration of the year, there is a powerful potential to make your dreams a reality!

To make the most of the energy of this day, think about what you would like to move forward in your life. Where would you like to make a shift or leap towards your dreams and wishes?

In honor of the special energy of Leap Day, I am having a shopping event for Betina Roza Insiders!

We are a few weeks into January now… the newness of the year starting to wear off a bit.

Probably you are more disciplined than me (or a Capricorn!) and you are well on your way to turning those resolutions into reality. But for most of us, now is the time we slide back into old habits, the yoga mat you pulled out of the closet already collecting dust in the corner…….

Intentions, resolutions… we are all compelled to set them this time of year, and most importantly stick to them. But, I always feel like January is a strange time for starting over. Here in the Northern hemisphere, everything is dormant, it’s still the middle of winter. No leaves on the trees, cold grey skies…doesn’t feel very fresh or new. That’s why I actually like to wait. I set my intentions for the year in the spring and use this time to let them bake. I like to allow some gestation time before I bring them out into the world for manifesting.

To me it feels a little more spacious, a little more natural and despite the voice in my head screaming "PROCRASTINATOR!!" , it actually works better in the long run;)

Seasonal timing aside, there are some good reasons to assess and restructure at this time of year. The sun is always on Capricorn on January 1st and that offers the prefect energy for anything practical, physical or material- probably the reason so many of us make a new diet/exercise plan for the new year- very Saturnian (Saturn rules Capricorn) of us to want to refine our most basic structures- our bodies!

Capricorn Dec 22 - Jan 20. ART by MYSTIC MAMMA

This year there are lot’s of planets sitting in Capricorn, perhaps adding more pressure to “get it right”.

But rather than do the same thing year after year- i.e. set intentions/resolutions and then abandon them a few weeks later, use this time to do some weeding and planting.

The energy is here for us to make some good practical, structural, and material changes, so let’s use it!

Here are some ideas:

1- Take time to journal or reflect on the past year. What were the high points and the low points. What and when could you have done things differently and had a better outcome?

2- Make lists of your intentions and resolutions and revisit them every day or every week for the first month or so of the new year. Do the change? Are they authentic desires or just reactions to what you are witnessing from the outside world?

3-Take some time to dream. We are still in the middle of winter, which is a time of year for going inward and for introspection. Meditate, journal or simply daydream about your intentions. Really imagine and feel what it would be like to make them a reality. This is literally the time of year for planting seeds, do the same with your intentions for the year. You wouldn’t just throw a seed onto the cold, frozen ground and hope it survives, would you? Take some time to prepare for what you want to grow.

The element associated with winter is earth. It symbolizes prosperity, fertility, stability, orderliness, groundedness, sustenance, creativity, physical abundance, nourishment, solidity, dependability, security, permanence, intuition, introspection, and wisdom.

Remember your thoughts are seeds, your mind is the soil…take the time to plant what you truly desire!

Need a winter pick me up? Try the Arco Iris (rainbow in Spanish) and bring some color into your days.
